Birdwatchers from across the county have flocked to see a rare bird in Swindon.
The Dipper, which was last sighted in the town about 25 years ago, has taken up residence in Park South and has attracted the attention of local birdwatchers in recent days.
Birder Martin Adlam has put together a diagram to help others local the Dipper – which spends most of its time under a bridge on Dorcan Way, near Coate Water.
Martin Adlam said: “With very little water in the stream, due to Coate Water being drained, its [the Dipper] travelling up and down the stream.
“However it does like to sit on the stones/bricks by the Dorcan Way road bridge and then presumably feeds in the deeper water under the bridge.
“The best place to park is at the top of Shaftesbury Avenue and then walk across the road onto the footpath, and then up to the stream. From this point onwards the grass is very wet (wellies or walking boots).
“As you approach the footbridge you can see the road bridge under the footbridge and hopefully the Dipper will be sat on his favoured rock.”
