A Swindon man has been jailed for four months after he admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Dominik Pietka, 26, of Edington Close, appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Wednesday 12 August.
The court heard that the defendant was spotted driving at speed by a police officer on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 on Saturday 25 July.
He was followed as he left the motorway at Junction 16, where his vehicle was stopped by officers from the specialist operations team.
Pietka was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He later admitted both offences and was sentenced to four months in prison.
Dog handler PC Craig Head said: “Pietka clearly has shown a flagrant disregard for previously imposed court orders.
“This custodial sentence sends a strong and clear message that such conduct is entirely unacceptable.”
