A serial domestic abuser has admitted several serious offences against a new victim.
Jordan Hunt pleaded guilty to attacking a woman twice in two days, and is due be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on 23 February.
The 28-year-old former soldier intentionally strangled his victim in Westbury on 5 February 2023, before damaging curtains, a vase and baby items.
He went on to assault the same woman the following day, causing minor injuries.
He pleaded not guilty to the offences and a trial was due to take place in December 2025 due to backlogs. He changed his pleas to guilty ahead of the trial, having delayed justice.
Due to his history of domestic abuse, Judge Taylor remanded the defendant, of Victoria Road, Warminster, in custody ahead of sentencing.
Most notably, in 2020 he pretended to be a police officer in order to convince his ex-girlfriend that he had taken his own life.
“What you have admitted doing is incredibly serious”, District Judge Joanna Dickens said – after Hunt pleaded guilty to impersonating a police officer and harassment.
She added: “There’s a possibility bearing in mind that you’ve also impersonated a police officer in really horrible circumstances in very manipulative ways, one of the options the court could do is send you to prison.”
