A girl has been arrested after she scaled the roof of a four-storey building in Swindon.
Police were called to reports of a teenager on the top of a block of flats in Devizes Road, Old Town, at around 8.45pm on Friday (28 August).
Officers cordoned off the area and closed the road as the fire service sent an aerial ladder platform appliance and local crew to assist with the rescue.
The girl was removed from the building’s roof and arrested on suspicion of assault. It’s not clear who was assaulted, or if they were seriously injured.
In a statement to Wiltshire 999s, Inspector Gareth Brooks said: “We responded to reports of a child on top of a building in Old Town, Swindon at around 8.45pm last night (28/08).
“Nearby roads were closed while the incident was ongoing.
“They were arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
