A motorcyclist has suffered potentially life-changing injuries in a crash on the B4069.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was tasked when the man, aged in his 60s, came off his bike near Chippenham on Friday afternoon (9 January).
Working in a ditch at the roadside, medics stabilised the casualty before moving him into an ambulance. However, he started to deteriorate further.

Air ambulance medics, working with the local ambulance crew, worked to treat the biker before rushing him to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
The patient, from Lyneham, sustained numerous fractures – including to his back and pelvis – and remains in hospital undergoing treatment today (Monday).

The man’s family told Wiltshire 999s that he has a long recovery ahead, and thanked the members of the public who found him and stopped to help at the scene.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 5.30pm on Friday we responded to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the B4069 between Christian Malford and Sutton Benger.
“The rider, a man in his 60s, suffered potentially life-changing injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.
“The road was closed and has since reopened.”
