A boy riding an electric bike and carrying a machete has been arrested in Swindon.
Police responded to reports of a disorder in Croft Road on Friday evening (21 August).
The incident involved a number of youths, who were riding electric bikes.
One of the suspects, a 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, was detained by armed police and subsequently searched.
He was found to be in possession of a knife and was taken into custody.
The boy was held on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of class B drugs, driving other than in accordance with a licence, no insurance and criminal damage.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers responded to concerns about suspicious behaviour in Croft Road on Friday evening (21/08) involving a disorder involving youths riding e-bikes.
“Attending officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of class B drugs.
“He was further arrested on suspicion of driving other than in accordance with a licence, no insurance and criminal damage.
“He has since been bailed to return to court on Saturday 29 August.”
