A woman is in hospital after a car and an ambulance crashed in Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Malmesbury Road shortly after 2pm on Thursday afternoon (20 August).
The incident involved a silver Mercedes-Benz C220 and an ambulance that was responding to an emergency call with its blue lights activated.

The vehicles impacted on the junction with Hardenhuish Lane; the Mercedes-Benz sustained damage to its front nearside bumper.
An elderly woman, passenger in the Mercedes-Benz, was looked after by a paramedic and police officer before being taken to the Great Western Hospital.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that officers attended, but no arrests were made and nobody is believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said that a double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer were sent to the scene.

It’s understood the ambulance involved in the crash did not have a patient on board at the time. The crew, including a student paramedic, were unharmed.
The road remained open throughout, with traffic able to pass the scene.
