Firefighters spent four hours rescuing a patient from a property in Lyneham.
Paramedics were called to a house on A3102 The Green shortly after 5pm on Thursday (14 April).
Following an assessment, it was determined that the patient had to be taken to hospital for treatment. However, medics were unable to remove the patient from the building.
They called Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) to provide assistance and an operation was undertaken in order to extract them and convey them to hospital.
A crew from Royal Wootton Bassett, two rescue units from Trowbridge and a senior officer attended the lengthy incident.
Firefighters spent just under four hours at the scene and carried out work to ensure the patient could be extricated safely, leaving shortly before 9pm.
A spokesperson for DWFRS confirmed it helped South Western Ambulance Service move a patient, stating that “work had to be carried out to make the exit route safe within the property”.
