Around 60 firefighters are currently battling a blaze involving a thatched cottage.
Emergency services were called to Bowden Hill, near Lacock, at about 3pm today (Monday).
The thatched roof of a cottage caught fire, sparking a significant fire service response – with firefighters both tackling the flames and salvaging possessions from inside.

Approximately 12 fire engines from across the county are on scene, along with a water bowser from Royal Wootton Bassett and an aerial ladder platform appliance from Salisbury.
Nobody is believed to have been injured, Wiltshire 999s understands.
“Thatch is being stripped from the roof, with jets and compressed air foam in use to extinguish the fire”, a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Adding: “Firefighters are also working hard to salvage as many of the occupier’s possessions as possible.
“Due to the number of appliances on scene, Bowden Hill has been closed by Wiltshire Police and is likely to remain shut for some hours yet.”

The road is closed in both directions – with closures expected to remain in place until Tuesday morning (22 July).
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Bowden Hill, Lacock has been closed while emergency services try to get a house fire under control.
“We would advise people to avoid the area and residents living nearby to keep doors and windows closed.
“The fire is burning through a thatched roof which fire crews are trying to control.
“Due to the nature of the fire it is expected that firefighters will be on the scene until tomorrow morning at the earliest.
“The road between St Anne’s Church to the junction with Forest Lane will not be accessible during this time, although residents will be allowed to come in and out.”
