A man has been slapped with an interim sexual risk order as police probe voyeurism offences.
39-year-old Thomas Fox appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday).
Avon and Somerset Police solicitor Jo Lush said that the man has come to the attention of officers after allegations were made – claiming he had been upskirting children in a shop.
However, an investigation found no evidence of this having taken place and the case was closed.
When officers attended Fox’s home in Chapel Plaister in Box, near Corsham, they seized a number of devices.
Videos were found of a naked woman carrying out private acts. The alleged victim provided a statement to the police in relation to the matter.
Ms Lush said the investigation is ongoing and the seized devices are awaiting forensic analysis and download, which is delayed due to a “significant backlog”.
Fox, who works as a freelance music tutor, did not oppose the interim order – which is a civil order and does not result in a criminal record, but acts in a similar way to the notification requirements of person on the sex offenders’ register.
Magistrates granted the order for one year with a require scheduled for nine months’ time. He was told to inform Wiltshire Police at Melksham Police Station within 72 hours.
