A horror crash on the M4 near Swindon has claimed the life of a teenager.
A Toyota RAV4 careered off the westbound carriageway after being involved in a collision with a Renault van near Junction 16 at around 8pm on Saturday (18 July).
The incident sparked a significant emergency response, with three air ambulance teams deployed alongside the ambulance service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance were deployed, treating two wounded casualties.
Critical care medics provided treatment to a 13-year-old boy, a passenger in the Toyota, who sustained significant injuries.
Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second passenger in the Toyota, a woman, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.
The drivers of both vehicles are understood to have sustained minor injuries.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the teenager at this incredibly difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected”, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.

Adding: “We need to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage.
