The disappearance of a six-year-old near a hospital sparked a major search in Wiltshire earlier this afternoon (Sunday).
Police officers and specially trained volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) were deployed to hunt the missing child in Salisbury at around midday.
The National Police Air Service helicopter from Bristol was also sent to the scene – circling a field to the right of Salisbury District Hospital for a short time.
29 WILSAR volunteers, alongside three operation vehicles, were scrambled from a training exercise in Bradford on Avon.
Hampshire Search and Rescue, including the dog team, were notified and placed on standby.
However, all responding volunteers were stood down after the child was successfully located by the police helicopter crew.
