A video of a Wiltshire man ‘crashing his £100,000 BMW into a hedge’ after leaving a cafe for petrolheads has caused outrage online.
The 30-year-old local admitted ‘making a mistake’ after a driver was filmed losing control of a top spec M3 – which is claimed to have a staggering 1,000 brake horsepower.
When the footage went viral the driver was called out on social media, with many pointing out that the manner of driving risked the lives other road users.

The incident happened outside Caffeine & Machine, a popular coffee house and diner opened for car enthusiasts, in West Meon Hut, Hampshire in recent days.
Following the crash, founder Phil McGovern condemned his driving – telling Wiltshire 999s: “We do not condone this behaviour at all.”
He added: “Caffeine&Machine as a brand, since its creation in 2015, has worked tirelessly to create a strong social governance with our “Don’t be a Dick” campaign and belief mechanism being central to this.
“DBAD helps protect what we’ve all worked so hard to build, the space we’ve fought to protect, and the reputation of every respectful enthusiast out there.”
In a public post on Instagram, the driver said that he needed to address the incident – appearing to make admissions and responding to people he claims are ‘praying on his downfall’.
He wrote: “Clearly the elephant in the room needs addressing or shall I say the m3 in the tree, thanks to everyone who asked if me and the car are all good.
“As for the little [p****s] praying on my downfall and hopping on the comments, the car isn’t written off, damaged but repairable.
“Already stripped and ready to be repaired, I’ll be back and the mtree will be better than before.
“Yesterday I read the situation wrong and it shouldn’t have happened, mistakes happen all the time. I’m not the first and I won’t be the last.”
In comments on the videos, one user said: “All the gear, no idea”.
Another penned: “All jokes aside, that could have been a motorbike or a family instead of a bush.”
One commented: “High performance car with a low performance driver”.
The driver was contacted for comment, but did not wish to make a statement.
UPDATE 31 OCT: Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have confirmed that an investigation into the crash is ongoing. The article has been updated accordingly, in line with legal responsibilities.
