A Warminster woman has been charged over a crash that killed a couple on the A303.
20-year-old Jessica Higgs is accused of causing the deaths of two people travelling in a Fiat 500 in Camel Hill, near Yeovil, on 15 May 2023.
It’s alleged the defendant, of Imber Road, was driving a Mercedes Citan van carelessly while over the prescribed limit for a controlled drug.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash but Tony Mist, who was driving a Fiat 500, and his passenger Thelma Huse, both 69, died.
Higgs appeared at Yeovil Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (3 April), and no pleas were entered.
The case was sent to Taunton Crown Court. The defendant was released on unconditional bail to appear for a plea hearing on 7 May.
