The incident happened at approximately 10.05pm on Sunday (1 November), in the area of the Magic Roundabout and Drove Road.

A black vehicle was involved in a collision with a Nissan Micra, but the driver failed to stop at the scene.

Instead, the vehicle continued in the direction of the Transfer Bridges, travelling the wrong way around two roundabouts as it left the area.

Wiltshire Police are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and are seeking information from members of the public.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed a black vehicle being driven dangerously around the Magic Roundabout or along Drove Road shortly before or after the incident.

They are also asking motorists who were travelling through the area at around 10.05pm to check their dashcam footage.

Any footage showing the collision itself, or a black vehicle being driven in the surrounding area, could assist officers with their investigation.

Police have not confirmed whether anyone was injured in the collision or provided further details about the black vehicle involved.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the vehicle travelling towards the Transfer Bridges or has relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact Wiltshire Police.

Information can be provided by calling 101 and quoting crime reference number 54260131608.

Alternatively, anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
