Two air ambulances landed in Wiltshire this afternoon following a plane crash.
Emergency services responded to reports of a light aircraft colliding with the ground at Lower Upham Airfield shortly before 3pm today (Saturday, 13 August).
Both Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance attended the scene south of Chiseldon, near Swindon, – where two men were injured.
Dorset and Fire and Rescue Service sent crews to the serious incident, where they are said to have extricated both the pilot and passenger from the wreckage.
Both casualties, men of unknown ages, were taken to hospital by land ambulance for treatment. The extent of their injuries are currently unknown.
Wiltshire 999s understands the Air Accident Investigation Branch has launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the aircraft crash.
