Police are appealing for witnesses after several school buses were vandalised in Trowbridge.

Over the course of last weekend (7-8 October), seven minibuses parked at Silverwood School on Ashton Street in Trowbridge had their windscreens damaged.

The damage means that it’s now too dangerous for the vehicles, which are used to transport children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to and from school, to be driven.

Neighbourhood Sgt Charly Chilton said: “This senseless act has meant that several vehicles which are vital for local children to get to and from school are now out of action.

“This has had a serious knock-on impact on the children who have had to adjust their normal routines, as well as their parents.

“There is also the financial impact of repairing or replacing these vehicles, some of which are specially adapted for those in wheelchairs or have mobility issues.

“I’d urge anyone who knows who did this or has any information to please report it to us.

“This can be done either on 101, through our website or 100% anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
