A footpath has been taped off after police were called to a serious incident in Swindon.
Officers responded to what is believed to have been a violent assault in Sandy Lane, off Okus Road in Old Town, earlier this afternoon (Thursday).
A large cordon was put in place, and around six police vehicles were in attendance at the height of the incident.

Two police officers were spotted providing first aid to a man sat on nearby steps – who appeared to have sustained a wound to the head.
Blood was visible on the ground, and forensics have been tasked. It’s understood the weapon used in the suspected assault was located nearby.
Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment. More follows.
