A trans child rapist from Swindon who keeps offending has been jailed for years.
Alex Smith, who was born Matthew Burren and now identifies as female, was originally convicted of raping a child under the age of 13 back in 2006.
She has since been convicted of possessing indecent images of children, breaching court orders and notification requirements repeatedly between 2006 and 2026.
The homeless 33-year-old, previously of The Haven in Queens Drive, has again breached a Sexual Harm Prevention Order by using a private web browser.
Smith was arrested and remanded in custody in July. At Swindon Crown Court on 7 August she was jailed for three years.
PC Katie Owers, of Wiltshire Police, said: “Smith has continued to breach the orders imposed by the courts over a prolonged period of time so I am pleased that the courts have on this occasion given a custodial sentence, reflecting the serious nature of the offending.”
