A probe is continuing after a one-year-old girl was found dead on a Wiltshire traveller site.
Emergency services were called to an address on Poplar Tree Lane in Southwick, near Trowbridge, at around 4pm on 25 February this year.
The tot was in cardiac arrest at the scene, having been found with her head in a bucket of water.
She was treated by ambulance crews, including critical care medics from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Air Ambulance before being taken to hospital.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, the youngster was pronounced dead in hospital.
It’s understood the police are investigating the tragic incident as manslaughter, and detectives have interviewed a man – aged in his 40s – in connection with the death.
Back in March, Detective Inspector Debbie Hatch said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the girl’s family at this incredibly sad time.
“We are still in the very early stages of our investigation, and It would be inappropriate for me to comment further at this time.”
