An air ambulance and armed police were deployed following the shooting of a man in Warminster on Sunday evening (6 September).
Emergency services raced to St Andrews Road at about 10.30pm – after receiving reports of a disturbance at an address.
A man, aged in his 30s, sustained a pellet gun wound to the throat. Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed a safe distance away to attend the scene.
The victim was was rushed to hospital for treatment. It’s understood he’s since been discharged. Wiltshire Police have confirmed that the injury is “minor”.
The force added that they believe the injury was caused by a BB gun – but a source close to the victim said it was actually an air rifle.
Firearms officers arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He is currently in police custody.

Contrary to other media reports, no police helicopters were sent to assist.
