Police are monitoring a car meet taking place in Swindon this evening (Saturday).
Wiltshire Car Scene was issued a stern warning, with the force telling the group that it has specialist police resources on standby should they be required.
Officers have been deployed to watch over the unauthorised event in Faraday Road, an industrial estate in the Dorcan area, and ensure public safety.
In September, four people were injured at an event involving the same group – after a car performing donuts lost control, ploughing into he crowd.
Wiltshire Police said it won’t stand for “deliberately disruptive” car meets – telling participants they will take action to prevent them where needed.
In a statement, a force spokesman said: “Officers are aware of people looking to arrange a car meet in Swindon this evening.
“We recognise that genuine car enthusiasts do so lawfully and in a manner that does not cause upset to local residents. For those who are inclined to attend, please expect to see a proportionate policing presence.
“Some groups however are deliberately disruptive and cause significant concern within our communities.
“Anybody taking part in disruptive car meets in Wiltshire should know that it will not be tolerated and those involved will be dealt with robustly. We have specialist police and partnership resources to support this approach, if required.”
