Police investigating suspected drug activity in Swindon discovered a cannabis farm after recovering a suspected stolen moped.
Swindon officers were carrying out patrols in Moredon on Friday (16 October) when they found the vehicle and several packets of cannabis concealed beneath a brick.
The Central North Neighbourhood Policing Team had been responding to reports of anti-social behaviour and suspected drug-related activity near the play park on Abbey View Road.
While carrying out enquiries, officers received intelligence – believed to be from a local resident – about a suspected cannabis grow at an address in Penhill.
They attended the property and discovered approximately 100 cannabis plants inside.
It has not been confirmed whether anyone was arrested in connection with the discoveries.
Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant James Quarrell said: “These results highlight the vital role our communities play in helping us tackle crime.
“Local residents are often the first to notice when something doesn’t seem right, whether that’s unusual activity at a property, strong smells, permanently covered windows, or people coming and going at unusual hours.
“We would encourage anyone with concerns to trust their instincts and report suspicious activity.
“What may seem like a small piece of information could provide the crucial intelligence needed to identify criminal activity and keep our communities safe.
“Neighbourhood policing works best when police and the public work together.
“We want our communities to know who we are, feel confident approaching us, and understand that the information they provide genuinely makes a difference.”
Anyone with information about suspected criminal activity can contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or report it online. In an emergency, call 999.
