The search of woodland for evidence in the Owen Dunn murder has entered its third day.
Police descended on an area of land around a former canal off Ocotal Way on Wednesday (4 January).
Around a dozen specially-trained search officers from Wiltshire Police have been combing the wooded area for clues in the Owen Dunn murder investigation.
Police dogs have also been brought in to assist during the search – and have been present at the scene since the start.
The woodland is taped off, with a community support officer guarding the area. Three police cars, two police vans and two dog units are in attendance. A large tent has also been erected at the site.
Owen was ‘stabbed in the heart with a machete’ in Haydon End, more than five miles away from the search area, on 4 December last year.
It’s not clear what the officers are looking for at this stage. It’s not known how long the police will remain on scene.
