A main road in Swindon has been closed whilst emergency services deal with an incident.
Police shut Queens Drive in both directions at around 6.30pm this evening.
The main road is blocked between Rushton Road and Coate Water roundabout.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was seen to circle the scene at around 6.50pm before turning to its base in Semington. It did not land at the scene.
Several of Wiltshire 999s’ readers report seeing at least two ambulances and a large police presence in the road. Another claimed to have witnessed a casualty being resuscitated.
UPDATE 7.15PM: Queens Drive has reopened in both directions.
UPDATE 8.30PM: Wiltshire Police say the incident was a medical emergency, not a criminal matter.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We responded at approximately 6.40pm today (09/03) to a medical incident.
“Queen’s Drive was temporarily closed whilst this was dealt with and a man was taken to hospital by ambulance.”
