A man is in critical condition after being struck by car on crossing in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Queens Drive at around 3.20am this morning (Saturday).
The incident involved a silver BMW and a pedestrian – a man aged in his 30s – on the junction for Frobisher Drive.
The casualty was rushed to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol with life-threatening injuries.
The road is closed in the direction of the Magic Roundabout between Upham Road and Frobisher Drive.
A full forensic collision investigation is being carried following the near-fatal crash, meaning the route is likely to remain shut until this afternoon.
Wiltshire Police is warning drivers to “seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area” while work is ongoing at the scene.
