A house in Swindon was cordoned off as a crime scene amid reports of a stabbing.
Police were seen racing to an incident at an address in Limes Avenue, Pinehurst, at around 10pm yesterday evening (29 September).
South Western Ambulance Service was also at the scene, on the part of the road situated between Beech Avenue and Whitworth Road.
At 10.45pm, the house was cordoned off with police tape and four officers – out of two marked vans – were seen guarding the scene.
The crime scene tape went across the front of the garden of the property, and armed response units were spotted patrolling nearby streets immediately following the serious incident.
Talking to Wiltshire 999s, one local resident said “two knifemen tried to break into [redected] Limes Avenue”. They also claimed a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Another told of how they saw several police vehicles pull up at the address and run into the house, followed by an ambulance crew.
“They just all turned up and rushed in. It was like out of a film, they just swarmed the area”, the woman, a neighbour who wishes to remain anonymous, said.
She added: “I heard a man was stabbed by people who broke into his house but we’ve not heard anything else. Police were there most of the night.”
