19-year-old Georgie Nolan is understood to have been in Bath at around 10.30pm on Friday (23 October) – before being sighted in Bradford on Avon hours later.

She was last seen near The Barge Inn at around 5am on Saturday (24 October).

A major search operation is now underway on the Kennet and Avon Canal, with Wiltshire Police increasingly concerned for her safety.

Water searches this morning (Sunday) appeared to be focused around a number of canal boats moored behind The Barge Inn.

Volunteers could be seen standing in the water, using a long stick to feel around beneath the surface.

An underwater camera attached to a long pole was also being used to examine areas beneath the boats and narrow gaps between the vessels and the canal bank.

The detailed searches were continuing throughout the morning as efforts to locate Georgie intensified.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue teams have been deployed and is being supported by Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue and Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs.

The charity confirmed that its team had been tasked by Wiltshire Police to search for a high-risk missing person in Bradford on Avon.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Have you seen Georgie?

“Georgie, 19, was last seen in the early hours of Saturday (24/10) near The Barge Inn, by the canal in Bradford on Avon, and we are increasingy (sic) concerned about her safety.

“Georgie is described as being around 5ft 4ins tall, with lots of piercings.”

Anyone with information about Georgie’s whereabouts should call Wiltshire Police on 999, quoting log 186 of 24 October.
