The Prime Minister says Black Lives Matter protests have been “subverted by thuggery” as police officers in London and other parts of the UK remain under attack.
In a tweet, Boris Johnson told the country that people have no right to attack the police whilst they are taking part in what are supposed to be ‘peaceful’ demonstrations.
“People have a right to protest peacefully and while observing social distancing but they have no right to attack the police”, he commented.
“These demonstrations have been subverted by thuggery – and they are a betrayal of the cause they purport to serve. Those responsible will be held to account.
