UPDATE: Motorist reported to court for careless driving over head-on collision on A420
At least one person has been rushed to hospital following a head-on crash in Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A420 Bristol Road at around 10.30am this morning (Sunday, 24 April).
A blue Audi RS 6 and a red Vauxhall Grandland X were involved in the incident.
The road was closed between Willowbank and Bumpers Farm for two hours whilst police and paramedics worked at the scene.
Three ambulances and a paramedic officer were in attendance alongside numerous police vehicles – with two armed response units utilised to close the road.
Recovery agents were called to the location at around 12pm and both vehicles were towed away before the A420 reopened at 12.30pm.
