A disqualified driver has been caught riding an off-road bike on Salisbury Plain.
Officers stopped the offender when they responded to reports of motorcycles in the military training area near Amesbury on Tuesday (7 April).
Police found that the rider was a disqualified driver with no valid driving licence. Furthermore, the vehicle was uninsured and untaxed.
The bike was seized by the officers, and will be destroyed.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “This is a reminder that roads and byways on Salisbury Plain should be used in the same way as any other public highway.
“While the Ministry of Defence has set out specific safety guidelines for using Salisbury Plain, all road traffic laws and regulations must still be complied with.
“Any vehicle using Salisbury Plain must be taxed, insured, and have a valid MOT where required.
“We would like to remind all users to access Salisbury Plain legally and considerately, particularly in areas where there is livestock or nearby residential properties.
“Salisbury Plain should be enjoyed safely and responsibly by everyone.”
