A Trowbridge stab victim has been named locally – as police make seven arrests.
Emergency services raced to the scene of a serious disorder in Bramley Lane, on the Longfield estate, at around 7.25pm on Wednesday evening (1 October).
Daniel Miles was found to have sustained a stab wound to his neck, which is understood to have been inflicted with a broken glass bottle.
It comes just weeks after his brother Benjamin Swift was found dead in the garden of a property – having sustained a serious neck wound after going through a window.
Local ambulance crews, supported by Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance medics, provided urgent care and rushed him to the Royal United Hospital for treatment.
Officers arrested a total of seven arrests in connection with the incident. All suspects – aged between 35 and 68 – have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
A source close to Daniel, who is known to loved ones as Danny, said: ‘He’s going to be fine but has healing to do, it was very scary for him especially after what happened to his brother Ben.
‘He’s been struggling even more with drugs and alcohol since his brother died in a horrible incident where he suffered neck injuries and sadly died.’
Wiltshire Police confirmed that those involved in the recent disorder were known to each other and said that there was no risk to the wider public.
The victim, who has a long criminal history, was recently in court for theft and a racially-aggravated public order offence against a shopkeeper in Trowbridge.
He pleaded guilty and will return for sentencing on 14 November, provided he is well enough.
