A woman hit a garage after reportedly losing control of her car during ‘grim’ weather.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Portway, Old Sarum, at 3pm on Friday (14 November) – as Storm Claudia dumped heavy rain on Wiltshire.
A black Mazda left the road, smashing into a garage. The vehicle returned to the carriageway, rolling along the road before it came to a stop.
Members of the public rushed to help the occupants of the wrecked car – who sustained minor injuries in the incident, according to Wiltshire Police.
A local, who stopped to provide assistance, said: ‘My son and I were first on scene.
‘A lady lost control of her car, hit the fence and the building behind and then headed towards me on wrong side of the road.’

Adding: ‘We did what we needed to do, the emergency services were there pretty quickly and miraculously there were no serious injuries.
‘The weather was grim, standing water and lots of leaves.’
The road was closed in both directions over the weekend while the building was assessed and made safe.
