An unconscious man has been rescued from a room on top of a leisure centre building.
Three fire crews raced to the Link Centre on Whitehill Way, West Swindon, at around 2.30pm, where the workman had fallen ill for unknown reasons.
He was rescued from height using a scoop stretcher attached to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s aerial appliance which is based at Swindon Community Fire Station.
A fire service spokesperson at the scene told Wiltshire 999s it was a relatively simple rescue.
An ambulance, two rapid response ambulance cars and specialist paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team were called to the scene.
One male casualty was taken to hospital.
