Three vehicles and an e-scooter were seized amid a road safety operation carried out by volunteer police officers in Swindon.
Ten Special Constables took part in the operation on Saturday (17 October), targeting unsafe driving and other offences across the town.
Officers from Wiltshire Police’s Specials Road Support Unit (SRSU) and Swindon Special Constables were deployed across five patrol units.
They spent more than 20 hours conducting high-visibility patrols, stopping dozens of vehicles and dealing with a range of offences.
An e-scooter was seized near West End Bowls Club, close to Wootton Bassett Road, while a Vauxhall Meriva was stopped off Faringdon Road.
The operation resulted in ten Traffic Offence Reports and five Fixed Penalty Notices being issued.
Three vehicles were also seized, while one motorist was dealt with for drink-driving.
Officers arrested one person for failing to appear at court and attended three road traffic collisions.
During the operation, the Special Constables also supported response officers with other incidents across Swindon.
This included helping to seize a knife discovered during a roadside incident.
Despite being diverted to deal with other policing demands, officers continued carrying out road safety checks throughout the day.
Wiltshire Police praised the efforts of its volunteer Special Constables, who worked alongside regular officers to tackle unsafe driving and improve road safety.
