Two air ambulances have landed for a road traffic collision on the A303 in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to the major route in the West Amesbury area at around 7.30pm this evening (Saturday).
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance with two crews, alongside several ambulance vehicles and police.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance are both on scene, having landed shortly before 8pm.
The route is expected to remain closed for several hours, and potentially overnight.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that the A303 between the Countess roundabout and the A360 Longbarrow roundabout is currently closed in both directions following a serious RTC.
“The road is likely to be closed for the foreseeable future. Please find alternate routes.”
