A Trowbridge man has been killed when he was struck by a train on a pedestrian level crossing.
Emergency services were called to the railway line near White Horse Business Park in North Bradley at around 11.15pm last night (Friday, 19 November).
The fatal incident involved a South Western Railway service travelling between Bristol Temple Meads and Salisbury.
A man in his 40s, from Trowbridge, was pronounced dead at the scene.
South Western Ambulance Service, Wiltshire Police, British Transport Police and Network Rail attended the incident.
Following an investigation, the death was determined as non-suspicious, a railway source told Wiltshire 999s.
Trains on the route were halted for approximately three hours while emergency crews worked at the scene. There was only minor disruption to services due to the time of night and the small number of trains using the route.
