Tributes have been paid to a Marlborough College teacher who was fatally hit by a lorry just half a mile from the prestigious school.
Jonathan Genton worked as an Academic Consultant at the £59,000-a-year educational establishment previously attended by the Princess of Wales.
He previously held the role of Head of Science, teaching physics and astronomy. He was still teaching at the college’s summer school.
Floral tributes were left at the roadside close to where Mr Genton was struck and killed by a HGV last Thursday morning (4 December).
‘May your laughter, love, kindness live forever. Love you forever, best friend’, one person wrote on a wooden frame featuring a photo of a smiling Mr Genton.
Marlborough College also paid their respects, with a spokesperson writing: ‘We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Jonathan Genton, a long-standing member of our staff.
‘Jonathan was a respected and beloved member of the College community, and his loss is felt across our staff and alumni.
‘We extend our sympathies to Jonathan’s loved ones, family and friends through this devastating time.’
