A smoke plume has blinded drivers on the M4 in Wiltshire after a car caught fire.
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 16 at around 2pm this afternoon (Friday).
A car was seen to be well alight on the hard shoulder as the first fire engine arrived.

When firefighters started battling the flames, a significant white smoke plume clouded the motorway in both directions.
The incident is ongoing, with motorists slowing in the area – causing delays. Closures may follow.
