A Swindon man who was killed in a crash on the A419 on Sunday has been named.
The relatives of Kumarathas Nadarajah have issued a moving tribute to a much loved ‘trusted, honest and respectful’ family man, who sadly lost his life in a road traffic collision on 12 June.
The 45-year-old, who worked for the Royal Air Force and helped refugees through his work at The Harbour Project, died immediately following the fatal smash.
The tribute reads: “Kumarathas, who was lovingly known as Kumar, was a real family man. Everything he did was for his family and his two children who are only 12 and 9 years old.
“Kumar was a really hard worker; not only did he have a full-time job with the Royal Air Force, he also worked as a part-time taxi driver and he volunteered at the Harbour Project for two years as a rehabilitation counsellor.
“He also volunteered in the Tamil community in Swindon where taught mathematics for GCSE students.
“Kumar obtained a Batchelors of Science degree in computing engineering in Sri Lanka where he is originally from and then obtained his Masters of Science degree at the University of East London.
“He was a very sociable person who had lots of friends in the community, Kumar always had time for everyone. He loved speaking to his neighbours and anyone who came to visit.
“Kumar loved pets and kept fish, chickens and his beloved German Sheppard dog Rocky.
“Kumar was the most trusted, honest and respectful man who was also well respected by all.
“His family would like to thank the local community for all their support at this tragic time.”
