Police were called to a property in Swindon after a Nazi flag was spotted in a window.
Officers attended an address in Winton Road, Stratton, on Friday evening (26 November) following a report of the suspicious item.
It’s after neighbours saw the Nazi flag featuring a swastika hanging in the window of the home, sparking some serious concerns.
When police officers visited the occupant of the address, they were given “strong words of advice”.
“Our officers gave strong words of advice to the person living there to advise that possession of the flag was not illegal, but that if it can be viewed from a public area, this could be considered a racially aggravated public order offence”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
The occupant made the decision to remove it from the window and not display it publicly.
