Police are searching for a man who fled after being struck by a car in Swindon.
The casualty is said to have stepped in front of a vehicle near the roundabout linking Drakes Way with Queens Drive at around 2pm today (Friday).
The man, aged in his 50s, was hit by a car and may have sustained serious injuries in the incident – but he didn’t remain at the scene.
He is described as wearing a dark jacket and possibly jeans. Police say he could be in shock, confused and upset, or showing signs of obvious injuries.
In a statement, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are urgently appealing for information about a member of the public who has been struck by a car in Swindon and left the scene.
“It is thought the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, who was wearing a dark jacket and possibly jeans, was struck by a car near the roundabout between Drakes Way and Queens Drive shortly before 2pm today (03/05).
“Man stepped in front of a car and was struck by the vehicle, damaging the windscreen.
“It is possible that the man who was struck may have sustained serious injuries and may be in shock. He may appear confused or upset and may show signs of obvious injury.
“We are very concerned for his welfare. Anyone with information is asked to urgently call us on 999 quoting log 143 of today’s date (03/05).”
