A man has been ‘stabbed in the face’ by a suspect wearing a ‘mask’ in Salisbury.
Emergency services were called to a serious assault on the junction of New Canal and Milford Street at around 2.30am this morning (Tuesday).
A man sustained facial injuries, including a puncture wound below his eye – believed to have been inflicted with a screwdriver.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment as police launched a manhunt for the male suspect, who was wearing all black clothing and a face covering.
He is believed to have fled the scene on a bicycle, and is thought to have been cycling around the city centre for some time before the incident took place.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers are carrying out enquiries including house to house and CCTV, and people are likely to see an increased police presence.
