A man has died following a serious incident at a retirement village in Corsham.
Emergency services were called to Birch Close, Wadswick Green, shortly before 2.30pm on Monday afternoon (7 September).
Great Western Air Ambulance Charity was scrambled in a helicopter alongside the ambulance service’s specialist Hazardous Area Response Team.
A man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Wiltshire Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
‘Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time’ a force spokesperson added.
According to a local resident, an area of the retirement complex was cordoned off by police – with around six units on site. Detectives from CID were also present.
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said that it mobilised an “ambulance, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and the hazardous area response team”.
