A man has died following an incident at a pub in South Gloucestershire.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was scrambled to the the scene at The Emerson’s Green, a Wetherspoons near Bristol, on Wednesday (1 April).
Alongside the helicopter team, two ambulances, an ambulance officer and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were present.
A man, aged in his 80s, was treated by medics – but despite their best efforts he was subsequently pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called by the ambulance service to a premises on Westerleigh Road, Emersons Green, Bristol, at around 1.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 April) following the sudden death of a man.
“Officers attended and we are treating his death as non-suspicious and the next of kin has been informed.
“We will prepare a file and carry out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 13:32hrs on Wednesday 01 April to an incident in Emersons Green, Bristol.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, a responding officer, and the hazardous area response team to the scene.”
