A man has been attacked with a knife outside a home in a village near Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to Wapley Road in Codrington, three miles from the north-west county border, at around 2.25am on Sunday (25 February).
The male victim was found with blade injuries and received treatment from paramedics at the scene. He was not taken to hospital for further care.
Officers launched a manhunt for the knifeman in the area, but failed to locate a suspect.
At the height of the incident, eight police vehicles, two ambulances, an a paramedic officer were in attendance.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “At about 2.25am yesterday morning (Sunday 25 February) we received a report that a man had been assaulted outside a residential property in Wapley Road, Codrington.
“Police and paramedics attended. The victim received treatment at the scene but did not need to be transported to hospital.
“Officers searched the area but no offender was identified.
“House-to-house enquiries have been carried out and we’d ask anyone with information to call 101 and quote reference number 5224049042.”
The force confirmed that officers were deployed to reports of a man armed with a knife.
