Male carrying samurai sword on illegal e-bike intercepted by police

A male carrying a samurai sword on an illegal e-bike has been intercepted by police.

Plain-clothed officers were on patrol in Swindon today (Tuesday) when the spotted the suspect riding a modified electric bicycle.

The male was stopped by the covert cops and a search uncovered a samurai sword.

He was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a blade in a public place and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

The illegal e-bike he was riding, along with a large amount of cash and mobile phones, were seized following the arrest.

The suspect was released under investigation while officers continue to investigate.
