There are major delays to train services after a person was struck by a train.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Stroud railway station shortly after 10am this morning (Wednesday).
Great Western Air Ambulance was among the 999 resources deployed. The train involved was a GWR service making it way from Swindon to Gloucester.
While the incident is in Gloucestershire, services between Swindon and Gloucester are affected – with the line blocked.
An update on the GWR website reads: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Swindon and Gloucester all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 13:00 24/09.
“A person has been struck by a train, leading to all lines being blocked. It is necessary to bring all trains in the affected area to an immediate stop.
“If you are onboard one of the services in this incident and have been affected by this incident or know someone else who needs support, there is always someone to talk to.

UPDATE
The British Transport Police have confirmed that a person died at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just after 10am this morning (24 September) near Stroud railway station.
“Officers and paramedics attended and sadly, a person was pronounced deceased.
“The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
