A Lyneham man has been charged with raping a woman in Old Town, Swindon.
Police were called to Dammas Lane short stay car park in the early hours of 30 June.
A crime scene was put in place as forensics gathered evidence – and a man was arrested.
Now, Rooney Gardi, 22, of Calne Road, Lyneham, has been charged with rape.
He appeared before Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday (6 July), where he was remanded in custody.
The defendant will next appear at Swindon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 2 August.
