A life-saving buoy has been stolen from a popular swimming spot near Wiltshire.
Warleigh Weir, just west of Bradford on Avon, confirmed the replacement important safety device had finally been put in place today (Wednesday).
The new buoy was funded by Aether Sauna, which operates sauna sessions at the site.
In a statement, Warleigh Weir said: “Following a theft of the crucial life saving device we are delighted to have finally installed a new one.
“Special thanks to Aether Sauna for funding this. Without the sauna sessions we would not be able to manage the land as effectively.”
Those responsible for the site have also issued a warning about the dangers associated with swimming in rivers.
The statement continued: “While there is a lifesaving bouy please remember that rivers (like any body of water) have inherent hazards.
“Unless you are aware of conditions, flow, underwater hazards and your own swim ability do not swim.”
